The ISSC M22 semi-auto pistol was designed by Wolfram Kriegleder, who previously designed the P22 pistol for Walther. His experience with Walther and other companies gave him the desire to create his own company that would incorporate his innovative design ideas into new firearms. ISSC is located in Ried, Austria, which is where the M22 pistol is manufactured prior to world-wide distribution. The company's design and engineering work is accomplished at the company's ESC subsidiary, located in Ulm, Germany.
